British Ceramics Biennial

Contemporary ceramics in the old Spode factory
Some interesting work on show at this year's ceramic biennial. The old Spode factory was a great backdrop to show the contemporary work in.  It's free to visit and is on until 13th November 2011. If you go wrap up warm,  the world of a potter is cold.   Here is some of the work I liked.

Jenny Backstrom
 Great forms and glazing.

Suet Yi Yip - detail

Suet Yi Yip
I liked the way this work was presented and the little birdhouses.

Old remnants and spare ceramic parts from Spode.  Apparently these were put together as an installation by Neil Brownsword however I don't think this would be too hard as lots of curious objects were left in ceramic dust to be reclaimed.  If you visit, take a look through some of the windows that spotlight a now defunct ceramic world - a real installation!

Elodie Alexandre - detail
Using ceramics in a 3D graphic way.

Julian Stair

Julian Stair
I've always admired Julian Stair's skill.

A Great Wall
A great wall showing that ceramic's are STILL produced in Stoke and Britain.  The majority of products were bricks or tableware.  Hopefully, events like this will get bigger and better and help to build the industry back up.

Salford Museum and Art Gallery Craft Fair - this Sunday!

I will be selling my work at Salford Museum and Art Gallery's Craft Fair this Sunday.  That's 16th October, 11am to 3.30pm.  I'll be selling seconds and 'end of the line' work so bargains will be had if you come down.  It's free entry and a great musuem to boot.  There's even a Victorian street to walk down!  Don't be put off by the road works on the Crescent.  They are at the end of the Crescent going into Manchester, the museum is before this on your left.  Hope to see you there.

'radiance - fragrance your home naturally'

I have been developing one of my ideas lately and here is the finished result.  What do you think?

Simply fill 'radiance' with water, add the essential oil of your choice, position on the front or side of the radiator, let the heat of the radiator give radiance to your room.'

No fuss and no hooks!  Magnets attach 'radiance' to your radiator leaving an elegant finish.

'radiance' is available in plain colour or with flower decoration.  Choose from white, yellow, pink, green and blue outer colour and white or pink inner colour.  Sold as a gift box which includes one 'radiance' and one bottle of lavender essential oil (5ml).  The gift tag is blank on the reverse for you to add your own message.

Now the weather is getting colder and the heating is going on, why not try a 'radiance' to fragrance your room?  To buy follow the links below:
